Shaggy Mane Mushrooms (Coprinus comatus) are a type of edible fungi that are found growing in temperate climates around the world.

As the mushrooms mature, their caps will eventually turn black and dissolve into a black inky substance, which is why they are sometimes referred to as “Ink Caps.”
